Our History
EXE Capital Management was established in response to the growing industry trend of standardised, risk-graded portfolios that fail to meet individual client needs. We are here to disrupt and to present our clients with a highly personalised investment service that aligns with their specific requirements. In choosing to invest with EXE Capital Management, our clients should expect nothing less.
As a Private Investment Office we serve entrepreneurial families and business owners who value independent thinking and long term partnership.
Free from product bias or external influence, we provide clear, strategic advice that combines financial consultancy with investment management. Our focus is on preserving and growing wealth across generations - supporting clients through succession planning, business transitions, and evolving family needs.
We build lasting relationships grounded in trust, discretion, and a deep understanding of each client’s goals, values, and legacy. As a boutique, we can offer levels of service and accessibility that larger firms cannot match.
Strong, long-term relationships and accessibility are at the core of our approach. Our highly competitive tiered fee structure fairly reflects a family’s combined wealth.
The names EXE (EKS), AXE and USK all derive from the common Brittonic or Celtic languages during the Iron Age and Roman period and means “abounding in fish”. The River EXE is one of Devon’s most important rivers running for about 60 miles from its source at EXE Head, in the north of the county, all the way south through the City of Exeter. It eventually flows into the sea at the EXE Estuary.

The courage to press on regardless – regardless of whether we face calm seas or rough seas, and especially when the market storms howl around us – is the quintessential attribute of the successful investor

Our culture, vision and values are what set us apart. Our focus is on building long term relationships with people we want to work with and for.
We will always put clients first, think long-term, act with integrity, provide good client outcomes and value independence.
Our Approach
Everyone has differing needs or goals depending on where they are at their stage of life. When it comes to capital you are most likely to want to accumulate it, preserve it or use it. It is our role to advise you on the best way to achieve this and to accompany you on this journey whilst doing so.
We begin by getting to know each other which allows us to understand your requirements and how we might be able to help. From here we will draw up a financial plan in accordance with your aims. This will incorporate tax efficient structures to enhance returns and an investment proposition appropriate to you.
When it comes to managing money our investment objective is to achieve risk adjusted returns over the long term whilst preserving capital. We achieve this by using both passive and active strategies across a broad range of asset classes. This helps us capture the performance of the market at a low cost and with reduced volatility, whilst seeking outperformance from exceptional managers running concentrated portfolios.

Price fluctuations have only one significant meaning to the true investor. They provide him with an opportunity to buy wisely when prices fall sharply and to sell wisely when they advance a great deal. At other times he will do better if he forgets about the stock market and pays attention to his dividend returns and to the operating results of his companies.
